** AFTERMATH **

OK, Alternative:
tuna sandwiches
and LINCOLN
LAWYERS,
maybe a few
journeys after
dark, but
not your
grandmothers
holiday:
what a way
to cruise into
a new year,
losing your
Mom, listening
to Sam Cooke
and strange new
Eddie V. with
a uke at hand,
it is the lay
of the land,
no trees, no
bright balls
no decorating
the halls, but
we are making
it here , one
episode at a
time, when you
divide the misery
into palatable
portions,

it becomes a bit
silly to be so
sad, what's
the point,
we have
each other,
the children
the friends
food and drink
enough to
sustain,
even a few
bright lights
bouncing off
the water,
I am no longer
somebody's
daughter,
it is a brave
new role,
not quite
whole, am I,
hanging in
waiting
for the new
year to begin!
