WHO I AM AND WHAT I DO

AS AN ARTIST:
I create a collection called FRESH ART - paintings, assemblage, enviro~sculpture, painted glass and special greeting cards. Working outside as the season permits, I use Carmel's luminous light to fashion the colors of nature into my work. Each piece is unique and one of a kind, often commissioned by a patron or designer for a special place. FRESH ART is featured in collections all over the world, and may be seen by appointment in my studio. Or click on "ART" and take a look now.

AS A WRITER:
Raised in a creative family of journalists, publishers, songwriters and architects, I have been writing all my life. As Editor of my High School newspaper, I wrote columns on music, art and rebellion, followed by stories, poetry and feature articles. For fifteen years, I produced and published a newsletter for an award-winning Monterey architectural firm, along with a weekly column for the Carmel-by-the-Sea Kiwanis Club. I also have the honor of editing the EAGLE, Monterey Bay's AIA Chapter magazine.

In 1998, my book SENSUAL INDIGO (Memoir of a Renaissance Woman) was published to rave reviews, and two additional collections of illustrated writings are completed. They will form a Trilogy of FRESH ART.

The Screenplays of PABLO AND PARIS (from SENSUAL INDIGO)and WILD BIRD (The Margaret Owings Story) are complete, and I have now finished writing SAVING CRYSTAL COVE. I am currently marketing all three screenplays for film.

AS A WOMAN:
I am a native Californian focused on the creative journey and a drive for excellence in all my pursuits. My dream is to communicate the beauty and drama of this life, and inspire others through my work.

To serve the community that has nurtured and inspired my heart, I volunteer and donate my services to the Carmel Kiwanis, AT&T Junior Golf, Leadership Monterey Peninsula and the United Way. I partnered with Community Partnership for Youth to produce fine art posters and greeting cards to benefit children with special needs. My books, art, and time are donated with pleasure.

My beautiful new studio is high above Carmel and looks out over Point Lobos and the coast! Surrounded by my garden, I create the art of my life. I will work at my craft until the end. It's what I do. Hopefully, one night I'll just finish up, leave a wonderful new poem on the table, and drift off to another place!
